The main duty of the Land Use Office is to inform the public of the zoning and wetland regulations for the Town of Canterbury, and to distribute the proper land use permits needed for the activity. The office handles all land use-related questions and concerns.

The Land Use Office keeps the necessary records of the IWWC, P&Z, and ZBA Commissions. 

Building Permits & Inspections

Building permits can be submitted in person or by mail. Please be sure all required information for homeowner and contractor, including contact information, is on the permit and all required documentation is attached. To schedule an inspection, please contact the Building Official by email canterburybo [at] hotmail.com (canterburybo[at]hotmail[dot]com), or by telephone at 860-230-7073. The Building Official schedules inspections on Wednesday each week.
