Nestled in Northeast Connecticut's beautiful "Quiet Corner", 314-year-old Canterbury comprises a rich mix of historical tradition, a wide variety of tradespeople and small businesses, unique ecological features, and beautiful vistas within its 40.3 square miles. A current population of 5088 is housed along 68 miles of Town Roads and 20 miles of State Roads.

Elementary and Middle Schools are located within the Town. High school students have a choice of Board of Education-approved high schools that provide a broad spectrum of educational opportunities. A wide range of extremely active and involved civic groups and services provide many recreational and educational activities throughout the town.
