Board of Selectmen
The selectmen in Canterbury superintend the concerns of the town, adjust and settle all claims against it and draw orders on the treasurer for their payment.

Planning & Zoning Commission
The Planning and Zoning Commission rules on all applications for new construction, reconstruction, alteration, change of use, change of location, or subdivision within the town of Canterbury.

Inland Wetlands & Watercourses & Aquifer Prot. Agency
The Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission in each municipality is responsible for reviewing applications for development that may impact a wetland or watercourse. They also act as the Aquifer Protection Agency, which is responsible for protecting public water sources within an approved Aquifer Protection Area.

4th of July Parade Committee
This year's parade looks to be one of the best. It will start at Dr. Helen Baldwin Middle School at 10 a.m. on Monday, July and proceed down Route 14 to the Community Center. To participate in the parade, print and fill out the attached form and submit to the Selectmen's office.

Agriculture Commission
The Agriculture Commission was formally established in March 2011 to promote agricultural businesses and to assure all Town regulations and policies related to Agricultural matters are farm friendly.

Board of Assessment Appeals
The Board of Assessment Appeals is an official municipal agency designed to serve as appeal body for taxpayers who believe that assessors erred in the valuation of their properties.

Board of Education
The Board of Education is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the public school system and provides policy oversight and direction to the school administration.

Board of Finance
The Board of Finance is responsible for the town's finances. Members' primary duties are to review and approve the town budgets and set the property tax rate.

Economic Development
This committee helps improve the business climate here and grow Canterbury's tax base by encouraging new businesses to locate in Canterbury and existing companies to expand their operations.

Library Board of Trustees
The Canterbury Public Library Board of Trustees is dedicated to providing all the residents of Canterbury free access to ideas and information in a variety of formats.

Recreation Commission
The recreation commission schedules activities, arranges for services at the Town fields, and coordinates recreational programs for children and adults.

Veterans Memorial Committee
The Canterbury Veterans Memorial Committee has worked to raise money to memorialize the Town's veterans. The memorial includes three granite stones in a park design near the Municipal Parking lot.

Zoning Board of Appeals
The ZBA hears and makes decisions on applications requesting variances to our zoning regulations.
